Taurus, the Bull – hen weekend horoscope

Earth sign

Strong, reliable Taureans are sensible, down-to-earth types who relish comfort and stability. On the other hand they also enjoy beautiful things, can be very sensual and are pleasure seekers, sometimes going just a little over the top, be it on shopping sprees, drinking, eating or in their amorous encounters. They are generally patient and placid, but watch out if you do cross them, an angry bull is not to be messed with! They appreciate quality and value and can recognize a rip-off at a thousand paces so be sure the hen weekend package meets Taurean standards! As friends they are generous and exceedingly faithful.

Destinations:
Taurus is an earth sign and Taurean hens will prefer destinations close to nature and the countryside; they aren't really city lovers so if you do choose a city destination make sure it's a beautiful one. Think about a country house spa weekend or renting a comfortable cottage in a small town with great shops and fine restaurants. Taurean hens are not keen on travel to new places so stick to the UK or somewhere in Europe she's spent time in before. The English Lake District, Bath, Cambridge and Edinburgh are good choices; further afield try Provence or Galway.

Day activities:
Taurean hens aren't interested in unnecessary risks so why not opt for a spa day, horse and pony trekking or just a long walk in the hills. Alternatively try a daytime cooking course, wine tasting or a shopping trip to a discount designer outlet.

Evening activities:
Just a good meal out with some decent plonk or some bottles of bubbly will be fine – to make it a bit special find a restaurant with live jazz, it's own piano player or cabaret act. Alternatively we suggest a beer keller evening, a traditional pub or bar crawl or live music.

Eating style:
Taurean hens love good food and traditional British fare is just fine by them; hearty pub grub or a steak house meal will do the job. If she wants to splash out go for classic French. Taurus has a sweet tooth so look for a place with a good pudding menu.

Drinking style:
The down to earth side simply goes for lager or beer, but the sensual side enjoys, a sparkling spritzer, a fine wine or even vintage champagne.

Hen night dress and themes:
The Taurean style is for natural fabrics, anything soft, silky and sensual, or for practical clothing that reflects her active interests. Her preference is for creams, blues, greens and other earth colours with quality and style winning over latest trends. She'll not want to go mad with over the top fancy dress, veils or 'L' plates. A team hen weekend t-shirt over jeans will be fine for the daytime with something more dressy for the evening. 'Glam' might be an acceptable theme if you decide to have one. The Taurus body focus is the neck and throat so you could use that as a theme, using necklaces, boas or fancy scarves.

Hens on the cusp:
If your hen was born on the cusp of two signs (i.e. a day or so either side of the start and end dates) then she may be influenced by a mix of both signs; if that’s the case then read the suggestions for both signs – move on to Gemini or back to Aries.
