Leo, the Lion – hen weekend horoscope
July 23rd – August 22nd
Fire sign

Ruled by the sun the Lion is dominant, proud, self-assured and confident. Leos love to be the center of attention and they enjoy life to the full. They don't like solitude and seek out company so friendships are very important to them – faithful Leos often keep the same friends for all of their lives. Leos love luxury and luxurious things; but they are generous and warmhearted too and enjoy sharing with friends and family. On the negative side they can be a bit bossy and you might find her trying to take over the organization of the weekend – it's 'her' weekend after all!

Destinations:
Leos love to travel in style and don't like roughing it. They'll happily stretch their own budgets for five star treatment, so you'd better guide her to ensure the hen weekend is something the whole group can afford! Suggested UK destinations are London, Oxford, Newcastle, and Edinburgh; in Europe head for Paris, Bratislava, Valencia or Madrid.

Day activities:
Equestrian activities appeal, as does anything that uses her considerable creative talents: life drawing (with hunky male subjects!), plate decorating, glass blowing or make-up and beauty sessions. The Leo hen adores being the centre of attention and being seen at all the right places so consider a day at the races, a glamour photo shoot or simply a full on spa weekend. A trip to an amusement park like Alton Towers would also suit the Leo hen.

Evening activities:
Leos are often fabulous dancers so pick somewhere she can strut her stuff. As a fire sign she'll enjoy a fire engine experience – all those hunky men in uniform! – or perhaps a saucy fire-eater act. For something a bit more cultured you could opt for a night at the opera or a casino evening.

Eating style:
Leos love spicy and exotic food – Japanese, Thai, Lebanese, Greek or Turkish will all go down well. The Leo hen looks for well presented food often laced with cream and alcohol.

Drinking style:
Leos know what they like and a good red wine is their usual drink of choice, but they'll also enjoy a Red Bull and vodka and anything with a citrus twist.

Hen night dress and themes:
Leos are bold, dramatic and flashy dressers, who love to take the limelight. They adore strong colours particularly red, orange and gold. Designer labels, satins, silks and plenty of bling are their style. A chance to just dress up with class may be all she needs on her hen night, but if you want a theme then go for something showy and sexy, perhaps can-can girls, French tarts or cat girls in jet black or gold. A simple theme might be animal prints or anything glittery (metallic wigs, rhinestone cowgirl hats or sequined t-shirts).

Hens on the cusp:
If your hen was born on the cusp of two signs (i.e. a day or so either side of the start and end dates) then she may be influenced by a mix of both signs; if that’s the case then read the suggestions for both signs – move on to Virgo or back to Cancer.
