Cancer, the Crab – hen weekend horoscope
June 22nd – July 22nd
Water sign

Just like the crab, Cancerians are tough on the outside but soft on the inside. These moonchildren are caring, sensitive, sympathetic and romantic, Cancerians make exceedingly loyal friends and have very strong attachments to home and family. Often contradictory in nature they seek security on one hand and adventure on the other, but pick hen weekend activities with care because they hate taking unnecessary risks. One of their big dislikes is being told what to do, so you are advised to check exactly what they want themselves before you book anything!

Destinations:
Home-loving Cancer might prefer not to go away at all for her hen weekend, but, provided she's secure in the knowledge home is waiting for her on her return, she'll find she enjoys travel and adventure. Suggested destinations are Scotland, North Wales, Holland and Ireland; or towns and cities such as Venice, Amsterdam, Galway, Newquay or Newcastle.

Day activities:
Cancer is a water sign and Cancerians are always happy near the sea, rivers and lakes. She'll enjoy a river cruise, sailing, canoeing or diving; even waterskiing or learning to surf might appeal. As she's a bit of a foodie a cooking course, wine tasting, or a chocolate making session would also suit.

Evening activities:
Cancerian hens enjoy the arts in all their forms so consider a theatre trip, some live music or a comedy club. She'll also enjoy a good party surrounded by a crowd of family and friends.

Eating style:
Cancerians enjoy fine cooking and are usually hearty eaters; Italian restaurants always appeal or consider a gastro pub. Or stay at home and buy in a celebrity chef, some quality catering or a gourmet picnic hamper.

Drinking style:
A real ale, a dry cider or a gin and tonic are always good calls and her ideal cocktails are a Margarita or a Sea Breeze; Cancer hens also love vanilla so a vanilla vodka and soda would go down well. A pub cruise, a floating bar on the river or a quayside inn are excellent ideas for the Cancerian hen night.

Hen night dress and themes:
Cancers colours are the colours of the moon – silver, smokey grey, blue and sea-green. The body focus is the breasts and stomach, and the Cancer style is for anything pretty, soft and feminine. Suggested themes are fallen angles, sexy fairies, bunny girls and nurses. Or keep it simple with fluffy bopper headbands, metallic silver wigs or silky 'bride to be' sashes.

Hens on the cusp:
If your hen was born on the cusp of two signs (i.e. a day or so either side of the start and end dates) then she may be influenced by a mix of both signs; if that’s the case then read the suggestions for both signs – move on to Leo or back to Gemini.
