Aquarius, the Water Bearer – hen weekend horoscope

Air sign

Aquarians are the intellectuals and geniuses of the Zodiac. They tend to be idealistic, inventive, unconventional and original. They care deeply about their friends but don't always show it, sometimes appearing aloof and distant. This air sign can certainly be a bit of an airhead at times too and is often engagingly eccentric. You can't ever tell an Aquarian what to do; they know it all already, so make sure she's completely involved in all the hen weekend choices. They also crave change, sometimes for the sake of it, so watch she doesn't mess with the plans once they are made!

Destinations:
Aquarians like to visit off beat places so don't opt for obvious destinations; suggestions include Liverpool, Birmingham, Torquay, Hamburg, Krakow or Budapest – but one thing is for sure, she'll not want to spend her hen weekend at home!

Day activities:
Seek out something a bit different for Aquarius hens: take a canal boat for the weekend or a barge on the Dutch waterways. Try a treasure hunt, find a fortuneteller or tarot reader, go up in a hot air balloon or take a ride on the London Eye. She might be up for a go at mud wrestling, riding a tandem or a trip to the Turkish baths. Flirting classes would be a laugh too!

Evening activities:
You'll need to keep the interest up in the evening as well, find a restaurant with live music and arrange some crazy transport to get you there – try a pink stretched limo, a New York style yellow cab, horse-drawn carriage or ride in on a fire engine. Round the evening off with a trip to the casino, or get the casino to come to you with a casino hire company like the Cardiff Casino Company.

Eating style:
Aquarians enjoy meals with a wide choice of courses and anything a bit different, perhaps a sushi bar, buffet-style meals, a barbie on the beach, or restaurants and pubs with quirky decor or themes. A lot of Aquarians are vegetarian so you may need to seek out a place with good veggie options.

Drinking style:
The water bearer enjoys long cool drinks, this might be a long mixer with heaps of ice, a tall white wine spritzer or just a well chilled lager; when it's wine she'll go for Merlot. Away from home she'll enjoy the local brew, be that a Czech becherovk, a Spanish sangria, an Irish whiskey or German pilsner beer.

Hen night dress and themes:
Aquarians follow fashion in their own distinct manner; they love keeping up with the latest trends but break all the rules, mixing and matching everything and anything. They enjoy wearing bright rainbow colours with electric blues, shocking pinks and fluorescents high on their list. This will give you lots of scope for hen party themes, how about Hawaiian with hula skirts and flowers, sexy cheerleaders with pompoms, pink nuns or everyone in afro wigs in crazy colours.

Hens on the cusp:
If your hen was born on the cusp of two signs (i.e. a day or so either side of the start and end dates) then she may be influenced by a mix of both signs; if that's the case then read the suggestions for both signs – move on to Pisces or back to Capricorn.
