An excellent place to start, with a choice of short general UK based plant identification courses throughout the year. Ideal for beginners, most of the courses listed have a strong emphasis on plant identification skills, starting with the general principles and then moving onto more detailed identification methods. Covering a wide range of plants from lichens and seaweeds to grasses, ferns and fungi.
These botanic holiday courses are run by the Field Studies Council, who are an environmental education charity who aim to bring 'environmental understanding to all'. The course list includes both day and short residential courses with accommodation.

CANARY ISLANDS: Wild Flora and gardens of Tenerife
A 7-night trip to explore the rich botanical diversity of the Island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Because of its unique climate and geography, Tenerife offers immense biological diversity, with as many as 140 plant species being endemic. Tenerife's sub-tropical north is a dramatic contrast to the desert landscape of the south of the island. A mountain range runs through the centre, with fertile valleys to the north. Canada's del Teide forms a gigantic natural crater at the centre and the rocky coastline is dotted with golden and black volcanic beaches.
